Public Tours at Washington-on-the-Brazos
Washington-on-the-Brazos is comprised of a 293-acre state historic site, and there are many different things to see and do. Visitors are encouraged to begin at the state-of-the-art Visitors Center where the congenial and knowledgeable Texas Parks and Wildlife staff can help you plan your visit and a variety of tour options can be purchased. This facility is free to the public and is the best place to gather information on the park amenities. No reservations are required for public tours.
Visitor Center/Gift Shop
The Visitor Center features interactive exhibits which present a timeline of the Texas Revolution and highlight the historic attractions located within the Park. The Gift Shop offers a wide range of Texas-themed items and keepsakes. Visitors may tour both at their own pace, without reservations.
The Park Visitor Center and Washington Emporium Gift Shop are open from 10am - 5 pm.
Closed on Christmas Day.
The Park Grounds are open daily from 8 am until sundown.
Independence Hall (administered by Texas Parks and Wildlife)
With a guided tour of Independence Hall, visitors will learn about the beginnings of the Republic of Texas, the convention of the provisional government of 1836, and the Texas Declaration of Independence.
Barrington Living History Farm (administered by Texas Parks and Wildlife)
Experience life in early Texas with a tour of Barrington Living History Farm.
Self-guided, approximately 1 hour allotted to see everything.
Star of the Republic Museum (administered by Blinn College)
Tour orientation offers an historic overview through the use of a twenty minute film.
Following the video, an "on your own" self-guided tour of the Museum's exhibits.

GroupTours can be arranged at a discounted fee with reservations.
