Star of the Republic Museum

Black History Month

The Star of the Republic Museum will have a display celebrating Black History Month in the Showers-Brown Discovery Center for Children throughout the month. Learn more about the culture, history, and legends of the African American experience during the Republic period of Texas.

Brazos Valley Regional History Fair

Students from the surrounding area will come together to compete for advancement to Texas History Day, a state-level contest for students from grades 6-12.  Project categories may include exhibits, papers, documentaries, performance, or websites. The public is invited to view these exceptional samples of student work throughout the day.
