The air is losing its chill and birds are singing from the treetops. The grass is greening up and spring is just around the corner! What better way to greet the new spring season than with an adventure! So head to Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site for a rollicking ride on our bright red replica stagecoach Saturday, March 8! Your adventure at Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site will include the foot-tapping rhythms of our favorite dulcimer players, a tour of the country Inn, the poetry of Kenny Lewis and, of course, the rough and rollicking ride aboard the stagecoach! The stagecoach ride transports passengers back in time as they travel to the historic Grimes County Courthouse and return to the Inn! Activities begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until 3:00 p.m. This event is Free!

Easter Sunrise Service
Springtime in Texas is a time of nature’s awakening, with the great beauty of blooming wildflowers and singing birds. It is also a time of spiritual re-awakening where man may renew himself and restore hope. This is the time to join family and friends, hands, hearts and voices at the Easter Sunrise Service held at Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site in Anderson, Texas. This special spiritual event is organized by the Anderson Baptist Church, United Methodist Church of Anderson, the McKenzie Chapel and Navasota Presbyterian Church. Prayers, hymns, scripture and meditation mark this event as a reverent celebration of the Resurrection. Fellowship follows with refreshments provided by congregation members. Service begins at 7:00 a.m.
