Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site Wish List
The Birthplace of Texas, Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site has projects, facilities, and equipment needs each year beyond what their state budget is able to provide. Please review this “wish list” of items that will enable the staff to continue to provide the excellent level of service and the extraordinary experience that visitors have come to expect from one of the state's most revered sites!
Please see if any of our needs match an interest of yours and might be worthy of a personal or corporate donation. Or, perhaps you have a used item in good condition matching an item on our list that you would like to donate.
Of course, all level of support is appreciated. Donated funds can support an entire project or be designated toward a portion of any item. Undesignated wish list funds will go toward most needed items first. Please use the memo line on your check to designate to which item you would like your gift to be applied.
Donations should be made to Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park Association which has a 501 (c) (3) designation from the IRS. All donations are tax deductible.

| Cedar Logs for Barrington Fencing | $2,000 | |||
| Authentic style perimeter fencing helps Barrington Living History Farm bring the past to life for over 13,000 school children each year. | ||||
| Clearing & Improving Pasture | $2,000 | |||
| Heavy equipment rental is needed to develop much needed new pastures for our heritage breeds of cattle and horses. | ||||
| Feed for Willie and Waylon (Percheron Team) | $1,500 | |||
| Horses require formulated feeds in addition to hay to maintain health and demonstrate draft work. | ||||

| A portable audio tour player will enable us to more efficiently utilize our limited number of staff, while still providing the story of Washington to a large number of visitors. | ||||
| Restoration Maintenance of Fanthorp Stage | $5,000 | |||
| To enable continued safe demonstrations and exhibitions, our beautiful replica 1850 Concord Stage of many years is in need of major repairs and a face lift. | ||||
| Supplemental funding for volunteers, demonstrations, events and services | $1,200 | |||
| State monies can not be spent providing perks such as occasional lunches and other amenities to encourage retention of well trained and experienced staff nor to show appreciation to our generous volunteers. | ||||
| Period Clothing for School Program-Fanthorp and Barrington ($500 each) | $1,000 | |||
| Dressing a 4th grader in period 1800's clothe, provides an experience he or she will always remember. | ||||
| Reproduction 19th Century Toys- Fanthorp | $200 | |||

| Washington on the Brazos is a little over 30 minutes away from the local community EMS. With almost 200,000 visitors per year you see the need for this lifesaver. | ||||

| There is a lot to see and walk to at the park. This item will extend the ability of those with limited mobility to enjoy the experience. | ||||
